Over the past several months we have touched on a number of the reasons why you would choose Armstrong Creek & Warralily as the ideal location to construct your new home; whether you are an owner occupier seeking a safe community to raise your children, or you are a savvy investor seeking outstanding capital growth. One of the first questions most buyers ask is where are the nearest schools?  In this blog we will give you a little bit of insight into our nearest Public Primary School - Mt Duneed Primary.

Mt Duneed Primary School
Situated just 2minutes from the Coast end of our estate and 9 minutes from Barwon Heads Road, Mt Duneed Primary sits on an undulating picturesque site and has all the hall marks of a quaint country style school. Currently comprising 258 students, with 12 Classroom Teachers, led by Principal Julie Makin, this school has become a very important part of the Warralily community with a number of resident’s children being taught there.
Mt Dunned Primary offers an Out of School Hours Child Care Program on site for Before and After School Care. To cater to the 258 students, they currently have on site six portable classrooms, a BER flexible space of three class rooms, and Tennis & basketball courts along with landscaped playing fields. They have a dedicated art room, music /drama room and a well-stocked library which now incorporates a computer lab. (Paraphrased from - http://www.mtduneedregps.vic.edu.au .)
Mt Dunned runs two bus services throughout the school catchment area with 18 students being picked up from the Barwon Heads end of the estate every morning and dropped off in the afternoon. To take the rush out of school pick time Warralily’s W lounges offer free hot chocolates & marshmallows to all our school kids, primary & high school, every afternoon. Apart from creating a safe focal point for parents to pick their kids up from, it creates opportunities for kids from a number of different schools to interact and mingle with many new friendships made.
With Warralily Boulevard is due to be completed by early next year, Mt Duneed Primary are already planning to run their bus route through the estate, subject to council approval, to further cement their school as the school of choice throughout Warralily.
The below quote from Principal Makin, perfectly dovetails with the emphasis that Warralily’s Development Team have placed on building the Warralily Community.
We have a strong commitment to constructing a true learning community, with an emphasis placed on creating an inclusive, collaborative learning community that embraces academic, social, cultural and physical pursuits. Our school community actively practise our motto of 'Success with Community Spirit'
