Chocolate Mud, Lemon Butter…..mmm Red Velvet!!!!
You would be forgiven if you started licking your lips when walking around the Warralily Estate and you get a ‘wiff’ of these aromas.  In fact, you have stumbled on the location of a home based business called Warralily Cakes.

Warralily Cakes
Introducing Warralily resident Natasha Pickett who is the creative genius behind Warralily Cakes. For those who already know Natasha, you would be fully aware of her creativity.

Natasha and her family moved down from New South Wales, when her husband was offered an incredible job opportunity in the Geelong region.  Researching Geelong suburbs and house designs they chose Warralily Estate to be their new home.

With her young family settled in, Natasha continued her teaching career teaching English at Diversitat, an organisation that supports culturally and linguistically diverse communities.  While Natasha fully enjoys teaching, her true passion is being creative and cake decorating is where she excels.
Natasha’s passion for decorating cakes started with her own children’s birthday parties.  As we all know children’s cakes are quite challenging at the best of times. Her new skills developed from experimentation and tutorials from You Tube, and having a brand new kitchen presented the perfect opportunity to start Warralily Cakes which is now a Council Registered Food Business.

Every week brings new challenges. Footballs, minions and bouquets of flowers are just the beginning of the themed cakes Natasha has accomplished.  Her specialty is children and adults’ “fun themed” custom made cakes.  From the start of a bake to a completed masterpiece can take from 5-12 hours.  Chocolate Orange and White Chocolate Mud are other luscious flavours which are available.  All cakes are filled with rich dark, milk or white chocolate ganache and prices begin at $150.

Once complete, walking in with the final product and seeing the sparkle in the birthday boy/girl’s eyes, is Natasha’s favourite moment. The happiness these cakes brings to her clients, warms her heart.  Natasha spreads this joy and volunteers for Cake Angels.  Cake Angels is a beautiful organisation, where bakers & cake decorators donate their time and talent by gifting a cake to a family with a seriously ill child to create precious memories.

Birthdays, baby showers and all other special occasions, Natasha will assist you in designing that perfect centrepiece!  She works closely with the client to ensure her customers are thrilled with the end result. These awesome cakes not only bring customers from Warralily & Armstrong Creek, but also clients from Melbourne and the Geelong region. About sixty percent are Warralily Estate customers and delivery is complimentary to the Armstrong Creek vicinity. Door to door service is also a great way to get acquainted with the Warralily residents.

The Warralily community spirit is most appealing to the Pickett Family. Natasha’s children have the freedom to play on the streets with their neighbourhood friends.  Weekly gatherings with neighbours who they now call friends, creates a real sense of community.  The family participates in all the events the estate has to offer. Their favourite event so far, was the Magic Show at Warralily Promenade.  Natasha and her family love living in and being a part of the community.  With her business, Warralily Cakes, she feels a true connection to the Estate.
